A tragic accident occurred this past weekend when three cyclists were struck by a car. The incident took place on Hamlin Groves Trail, west of Tiny Road, around 8:30 a.m on Sunday.
A driver, reportedly 32 years old, veered from his lane and collided with the cyclists, who were traveling in the same direction. Following the accident, two of the cyclists, aged 60 and 53, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
The third cyclist, a 66-year-old man, suffered more severe injuries and was trauma alerted to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
In Florida, cyclists have the legal right to ride in the roadway and must abide by all traffic laws.
