Election results below are unofficial results provided before all votes are tallied in the official count.
Both Jerry Demings and Teresa Jacobs easily slide through their re-election and are being sent by the voters for another term in office. Since both candidates surpassed the 50% threshold in the Primary Election, they win outright without going to the General Election.
Jerry Demings, the Orange County Mayor, ran against Chris Messina, Tony Sabb, and Kelly Semrad. Out of the opposition, only Semrad’s campaign had any meaningful outreach. Demings secured 59% of the vote.
Teresa Jacobs, Orange County School Board Chair, ran against Demensio Barton and Carl Brewer Jr., who also did not have much campaign presence in Horizon West. Jacobs secured 69% of the vote. The School Board Milage Question also easily passed with 82% of the vote.
The Republican Primary for State Rep District 45 between Carolina Amesty, Vennia Francois, Janet Frevola, Bruno Portigliatti, and Mike Zhao was extremely competitive and negative. With all candidates running along a similar platform, the several campaigns and PACs went negative against other candidates. In the end, Amesty won out with 46% of the vote, and received stiff opposition from Portigliatti and Francois. Carolina Amesty will face off against Democrat Allie Braswell in the General Election.
The Republican Primary for House District 11 put incumbent Daniel Webster up against far-right extremist Laura Loomer. Webster won re-election with 51% of the vote. Webster will face off against Democrat Shante Munns in the General Election.
