Each department in Orange County has submitted proposed budgets to the Orange County Board of Commissioners for the 2021-2022 fiscal year budget.
The Orange County Fire Rescue Department has included 4 new stations and a new training center in their budget proposal. 3 of the stations will directly impact Horizon West.
Here are the new locations and timelines for Horizon West:
- Fire Station 32: Avalon Road & New Hartzog Road – Estimated groundbreaking FY 21-22
- Fire Station 44: Summer Lake Park & Reams Road – Estimated groundbreaking FY 21-22
- The temporary location on Porter Road at the Orlando Health Hospital will move into this permanent location
- Fire Station 48: Avalon Road & Lake Ingram Road – Estimated groundbreaking April 2023
According to WFTV and District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson, who supports this budget proposal, the increase in fire stations may also help home owners lower their home insurance rates.
