Orange County parks continue their rapid expansion in Horizon West, with Summerlake Park officially opening and Bentonshire Park breaking ground recently. This comes as Taborfield Park opened earlier this year and ground breaking began on Horizon West Regional Park. Nearby, Dr. Phillips Ballfield Complex opened with 4 lighted fields, concession stand, and restrooms.
Summerlake Park includes a picnic pavilion, outdoor exercise equipment, walking path, picnic tables, grills, and playgrounds with shade structures. Summerlake Park is located next to Summerlake Elementary School, close to the intersection of Summerlake Park Blvd and Summerlake Groves St.

Bentonshire Park is located along Overstreet Rd and Bentonshire Ave. Plans for the park include a playground with sun shade, dog park, picnic pavilion, natural mulched area with existing trees, open space, and sidewalks. The budget for Bentonshire Park is $1.2 million, in line with the cost of other neighborhood parks.
Orange County prohibit the following activities in any park:
- Organized practices or league play
- Engaging in commercial or pay to participate activities
- Pets in the playground area
- Alcohol possession or consumption
- Outside equipment or services
