Residents in Horizon West are invited to play a direct role in shaping the future of Silverleaf Park through a two-pronged community outreach initiative. The Orange County Parks and Recreation Division and District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson is spearheading this effort by hosting the first in-person community meeting. Scheduled for Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hamlin Middle School, 16025 Silver Grove Blvd., Winter Garden, the meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to learn about potential amenities for the park.
During the meeting, attendees will be presented with detailed plans that outline the proposed developments for Silverleaf Park. A comprehensive presentation will highlight prospective improvements, offering a clear picture of what the future could hold for this community asset.
In addition to the in-person gathering, residents are encouraged to share their input through an online survey. The survey is designed to collect detailed feedback from park users by asking them to select desired future amenities such as walking trails, playgrounds, and sports areas. Open-ended questions also allow residents to suggest enhancements like improved lighting, additional seating, or the introduction of new recreational features. This survey aims to capture a wide range of perspectives and ensure that every voice in the community is heard.
By combining in-person discussions with an online survey, local officials hope to incorporate a broad spectrum of community insights into the planning process for Silverleaf Park. This comprehensive approach is expected to provide a clearer understanding of current needs while guiding future investments and projects. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the park evolves in a way that aligns with the priorities of local residents, thereby contributing to a more vibrant and accessible public space.
