A rezoning request has been submitted to Orange County by property owners to rezone their property. The request is to rezone 4.90 acres from R-CE-2 to PD (Planned Development District) and to change from Greenbelt to Estate Home District on the Special Planning Area map of Horizon West, in order to construct a maximum of 11 single-family residential dwelling units.

This is the preliminary notification for the request and is part of the standard process for the county to review requests for rezoning. Additional approval is required based on a traffic study, OCPS approval of school capacity, environmental study, and development compatibility. Any issues found with one of these studies would need to be addressed or mitigated by the developer. According to LUP-20-06-160, Orange County Public Schools approved the proposed development on August 19, 2020.

The current request is at the Public Review and Comment Period. It will then be followed by a Public Hearing by the Planning & Zoning Commission, followed by a Public Hearing by the Orange County Board of Commissioners. Dates for the public hearings have not been set.
