A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 23 from 6pm to 7pm at the Windermere High School Cafeteria regarding a rezoning request for 5504 Winter Garden Vineland Rd.
The developer will be presenting their proposal and taking questions from the public. The initial proposal for the land was for 5-story apartment complex with 375 units, but was scaled down to the current proposal after public input. The new request is for a total of 110 residential units, comprised of 17 single-family homes and 93 townhomes. No decision on the rezoning request will be made by Orange County at this meeting.
The land is currently zoned R-CE, Country Estate, which prohibits the use of townhomes. The request to rezone to PD, Planned Development, will allow both single-family detached homes and townhomes compatible.
