Reams Road is currently flooded over in several locations due to the impacts of Hurricane Ian. A portion of the road was closed between the Mobil gas station and Bay Court prior to the storm in anticipation of flooding. While there were no blockades up at this portion of the road, it’s possible Orange County Public Works adds barriers to this stretch of road, as the closure and detours were pre-planned.

The bridge located at Greenback Blvd in front of The Preserve At Lakes of Windermere is also flooded, and serves as one of the drainage routes for Lake Reams.

The intersection at Reams, Ficquette, and Summerlake Park is also heavily flooded. The turn lane from Ficquette to Summerlake Park is especially deep, with the hazard cones placed out by the county completely submerged under the water.

While no curfew is in place, Orange County is encouraging all drivers to remain at home to ensure emergency vehicles can get to the backlog of service calls.

Thanks to reader funinsider6969 for sending in the photos, who traveled in a heavy duty pickup truck and was out to check on elderly family members.
