Amazon has launched a new function on their devices that will automatically share your wifi connection to anyone else who comes into range. The program, called Amazon Sidewalk, is designed to allow Amazon devices to remain connected to the Internet even if their home connection becomes unavailable. However, this relies on using someone else’s network.
How to Opt Out Amazon Alexa:
- Open the Amazon Alexa App.
- Select the “More” icon in the lower right.
- Go to Settings > Account Setting > Amazon Sidewalk
- Toggle to disable
How to Opt Out Amazon Ring:
- Open the Ring app.
- Select the three lined icon in the top left for the Control Center.
- Select Sidewalk.
- Toggle to opt-out.
By disabling the feature, you’ll prevent unauthorized access to your wireless network.
