Orange County has provided an update on the quality of water served by Orange County Utilities. Orange County Utilities is a department of Orange County Government and is governed by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
In 2023, the toxic chemical 1,4-Dioxane was detected in the Seminole County water supply after an investigation by the Orlando Sentinel.
Horizon West falls within the Orange County Utilities Western Regional Water System Service Area and the water is tested annually for a variety of contaminants. Contamination measures are measured against a Maximum Contamination Level (MCL) value.

Contaminants detected in the Western Service Area include radium 226 + 228, antimony, arsenic, barium, cyanide, flouride, lead, mercury, nitrate, sodium, chlorine, haloacetic acids, trihalomethanes, and copper.

Contaminants detected in the Flamingo Crossing Service Area include alpha emitters, radium 226 + 228, barium, cyanide, flouride, lead, nitrate, selenium, socium, chlorine, haloacetic acids, trihalomethanes, and copper.
