A new water storage facility has started to go vertical along Avalon Road, just south of Seidel Road. The small site, next to Braxton at Waterleigh apartments, features a potable water ground storage tank (GST) and a wastewater lift pump.

The new potable water storage tank will hold 3.5 million gallons of water, according to plans filed with Orange County. The tank will be painted in the same neutral color as other Orange County Utility buildings, which is carved ivory. Site plans include landscaping with trees and were designed with a second, future storage tank as well,
The wastewater lift pump will help facilitate the transport of wastewater to a treatment plant. Due to Florida’s low elevation, sewage lift stations are a part of every neighborhood infrastructure.

According to the 2021 Orange County Annual Water Report, OC Utilities provided service to over 164,190 accounts, serving a population of more than 574,000 and produced 24.2 billion gallons of water.
