A shooting Wednesday night at a Flamingo Crossings apartment complex sent two men to the hospital after an argument escalated into gunfire, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 10:10 p.m. to the Flamingo Crossings Village Apartments, located off Western Way. Investigators believe the two men were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical, resulting in both individuals shooting each other. Both were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the events leading up to the shooting, the relationship between the individuals, or whether any charges will be filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
To assist law enforcement in future investigations, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office recently launched a voluntary security camera registration program called Connect Orange County. Residents and businesses in Horizon West and surrounding areas can register the locations of their security cameras with the Sheriff’s Office, allowing investigators to quickly identify nearby footage that may aid in solving crimes. The program does not provide live access, and registration is optional.
