A Horizon West Regional Park Trail Map is now available to help residents hike through the park. The map was created by Jerry Blank, a local commercial and scenic professional photographer.
The Horizon West Regional Park will eventually become a major regional park. The park will be constructed in 5 phases, and funding is currently secured for Phase 1. The first phase includes mostly infrastructure work to prepare the site for future improvements.
A small parking lot is currently available along with several trails throughout the park. The trails vary from length and showcase a variety of different ecological environments.
- Parking Access Trail – 0.1 Mile
- NW Ponds Loop – 1.1 Miles
- Lake Hartley Loop – 2.2 Miles
- SE Trail – 0.4 Miles
- Oak Perimeter Loop – 0.7 Miles
- Northwest Trail – 0.6 Miles
The map also includes features throughout the park, such as good vantage points, flowers, and hazards on the trail. Since this map is user-generated, anyone visiting the park should come prepared for hiking in nature and path conditions may be different than what’s on the map.
