The Horizon West community is set to witness a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of its new library on November 13, 2024.
This state-of-the-art facility, located within the Horizon West Regional Park along Hamlin Groves Trail, is poised to become a central hub for learning, collaboration, and community engagement.
Spanning 20,000 square feet, the library’s modern design incorporates best practices developed by the Orange County Library Systemover the years. Key features include:
- Versatile Meeting Spaces: Three meeting rooms—two at 750 square feet and one at 1,500 square feet—can be combined to accommodate larger gatherings.
- Dedicated Study and Training Rooms: Two study rooms and two training rooms cater to various educational and professional needs.
- Media Lab: A specialized area equipped with the latest technology for creative and digital projects.
- Outdoor Pavilion and Stage: An outdoor stage and pavilion provide venues for performances and community events, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor activities.
The library’s surroundings will feature Florida-native landscaping, enhancing its aesthetic appeal and offering connections to nearby trails and equestrian paths.
This project reflects a collaborative effort between OCLS and Orange County, aiming to enrich the Horizon West community with a facility that meets diverse needs and fosters a love for learning.
