Construction has officially started on the new Orange County Horizon West Library at the Horizon West Regional Park.
Located along Hamlin Groves Trail, just north of Hamlin, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to maximize community space inside and out.
The library design has incorporated best practices developed by Orange County Library System’s expansive locations. Spanning over 20,000 square feet, library features include:
- Versatile Meeting Spaces: Three meeting rooms—two at 750 square feet and one at 1,500 square feet—can be combined to accommodate larger gatherings.
- Dedicated Study and Training Rooms: Two study rooms and two training rooms cater to various educational and professional needs.
- Media Lab: A specialized area equipped with the latest technology for creative and digital projects.
- Outdoor Pavilion and Stage: An outdoor stage and pavilion provide venues for performances and community events, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor activities.
The library will feature Florida-native landscaping, and include connections to nearby trails and equestrian paths.
Library construction is scheduled for completion in late 2025.
