A request has been submitted to Orange County to conduct a preliminary review for a 4-story, 124 Hilton LivSmart Hotel next to the Proton Therapy building in Hamlin.

In August, a letter was submitted to Orange County to verify the zoning for the Proton Therapy. Orange County confirmed a proton therapy center is an allowed use. This verification step is a common request during lease negotiations, and while it’s unknown if a company will agree to a lease, it may indicate there is interest in the property.

Proton Therapy treatment is an advanced and highly precise radiation treatment for tumors. It focuses energy on the tumor itself and delivers less radiation to surrounding healthy tissue. Treatment usually only takes several minutes, but a typical treatment course is 5-days a week for several weeks, making nearby hotel accommodations a valuable amenity for patients.

Hilton’s LivSmart brand is a new concept by the brand, featuring apartment-style rooms for a comfortable long-stay experience. Rooms are designed to be extremely functional and include a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel includes complimentary breakfast, community laundry area, and other amenities to help guests with long-stays.

The addition of hotel accommodations continues to build upon the vision for Hamlin Town Center and will additional best in-class businesses including a craft brewery, luxury movie theater, indoor adventure park, unique restaurants, and destination shopping.  Future businesses joining Hamlin include Tiger Woods’ Popstroke mini-golf experience, lakefront dining at Don The Beachcomber (formerly named Tiki Docks), Agava Bandido Mexican Tequila Bar, and additional retail shopping at TJ Maxx.
