The long-anticipated shoreline and dredging of Lake Hancock is one step closer as Orange County has mailed notifications to all lakefront property owners requesting feedback on the project. The initial application was filed in April of 2019 and has slowly been moving through the county permitting process as it has entailed extensive discussions between the developer and Senior Orange County Staff.
The plans include dredging in the middle of Lake Hancock to make the water navigable for boats, dredging along the shoreline to allow for docking against a boardwalk, and installation of the boardwalk and 2 docks.
The permit can be viewed online under Permit Number SADF-19-04-007 through Orange County Fast Track – Environmental Permits.
