Walt Disney World has announced a plan to add 1,300 units of affordable housing in Horizon West in Orange County. According to the Orange County property appraiser website, the plots sit within unincorporated Orange County, which would be serviced by most Orange County services, including schools, fire, and police.

The location of the affordable housing complex is along Hartzog Rd, close to the intersection of Avalon Road, Hartzog Rd, and Waterway Passage Dr. The property is next to Vintage Horizon West apartments, future townhomes, and across the street from Braxton Waterleigh Apartments. The property currently serves as rapid water infiltration basins for Reedy Creek.
Disney stated that the project will be privately financed and limited to applicants within a certain income range. The income range requirement was not listed.
The project will be built, owned, and operated by The Michaels Organization.
