Horizon West Info can confirm through an official Publix representative that the new Publix at Hamlin Cove will be opening on Thursday, August 31 at 8:00am. The store is located at 5400 Hamlin Groves Trail, Winter Garden and is store number 1567.
The opening of Publix at Hamlin Cove is a significant step for the future of Hamlin and Horizon West. Until the opening of Wal-Mart, that area of Horizon West has been greatly underserved by commercial resources. Publix will now grant residents an alternative between Wal-Mart and will be the anchor for many new shops to open in the complex. Publix stores are excellent anchors for shopping plazas due to their popularity.
