BCC Approves 2 New Developments For Horizon West; Silverleaf North Parcel B & Lake Dennis

The Orange County Board of County Commissioners met during their normal meeting on July 26 and reviewed two requests located in Horizon West. Both items have been updated on the Horizon West Interactive Development Map, embedded at the bottom of the article.

Silverleaf North Parcel B, a small segment of the Silverleaf development, was requested for 55 single-family homes on 10.5 acres. The development was passed on a 5 – 2 vote in favor.

Lake Dennis Planned Development was approved for 95 single family homes on 45 acres. While the area is currently undeveloped, directly to the north will be Waterleigh, and east and south will be developed as Northlake at Ovation. Commissioner Wilson made a motion for denial, which was seconded by Commissioner Bonilla, but did not pass 5-2. The BCC then voted to approve the plan, which passed 5-2.

 

Also during the BCC meeting, Commissioner Wilson discussed with County Staff the process of mass grading and the Board can ensure approvals for development go before the BCC before grading begins.
