In the race for Orange County District 1 Commissioner, candidate Austin Arthur recently received three new endorsements from former Commissioner Victoria Siplin, former Democrat FL House candidate Allie Braswell, and Winter Garden community advocate Charlie Mae Wilder.
Victoria Siplin served on the board for eight years, two of which overlapped with current incumbent Nicole Wilson. In a statement, Siplin stated: “As a two-term Orange County Commissioner, I understand the significance of collaboration. When addressing development’s responsibilities to our roads and the community’s welfare, it falls upon the district commissioner to engage with all stakeholders. Austin possesses the necessary business acumen and partnership mindset to positively impact the district. I wholeheartedly endorse him and eagerly anticipate the positive changes he will bring to West Orange County.”
Democrat Allie Braswell, who lost to Carolina Amesty by 4,400 votes for District 45 FL House Representative, also endorsed Arthur, stating: “I have been watching Austin and his campaign, he has proven to me that he has the best interest of the community at heart. I especially appreciate the work he has done in minority under-resourced communities, not just during his election but long before. I am looking forward to working together with him on things that matter to all our residents.”
Winter Garden resident and activist Charlie Mae Wilder also made a recent endorsement, stating: “Austin has been a blessing, showing up and helping us even when unseen. We need him as our
commissioner.”
The City of Winter Garden recently named a park after Charlie Mae Wilder, which was dedicated earlier this year.
The election for Orange County District 1 Commissioner is August 20.
